Cancellation Policy
This policy applies to reservations for the Whale Shark Tour in Holbox. By booking, you acknowledge and accept the terms below. 1) Customer Cancellations • More than 24 hours before tour start: 80% refund of the amount paid, or a free reschedule (subject to availability). • Less than 24 hours before tour start: no refund. 2) Why the refund is 80% The remaining 20% is non-refundable because it covers payment and administrative costs incurred when processing your reservation and that are often non-recoverable, such as: • Payment processor and card network fees (e.g., card, PayPal, Mercado Pago), which may not be returned even if the transaction is reversed. • Administrative work: booking management, customer support, confirmations, and coordination with the boat/captain and schedule allocation. • Operational costs related to holding your spot and preparing the service. 3) No-Show and Late Arrivals • A 10-minute grace period applies at the departure point. After that, it is considered a No-Show and no refund applies. • If you miss the departure due to late arrival, transportation issues, or not being at the agreed meeting point, the booking is forfeited. 4) Weather, Safety, and Force Majeure • For safety, the itinerary order, departure time, or meeting point may change due to weather and sea conditions. • Light rain is not, by itself, a reason for cancellation if the tour can operate safely. • If the tour is cancelled by the operator due to unsafe weather/sea conditions or port closure, you may choose 100% refund or reschedule (subject to availability). • In exceptional events (e.g., hurricanes, government restrictions, natural disasters), refunds or vouchers may be handled case-by-case. 5) Refund Method and Processing Time • Refunds are issued to the original payment method whenever possible. • Processing time is typically 5 to 15 business days, depending on your bank or payment platform. • Bank or platform fees charged on your side (if any) are outside the operator's control.
